Arafat Sunny Again Suspected for Bowling Action

Spinner Arafat Sunny is playing for Rangpur Riders in Bangladesh Premier League- BPL. He was their captain in the last match again the Dhaka Dynamites, on Wednesday. His bowling action was suspected by Umpires, during the match against Rajshahi Kings along with Kevon Cooper of Khulna Titans.

Mr Jalal Yousus, the member of governing council of the tournament have confirmed this. He said, “The umpires have reported about their bowling action. The bowling action review committee of Bangladesh Cricket Board- BCB will analysis the footage of Arafat Sunny’s bowling action at the end of the tournament. We have already sent the footage of Kevon Cooper to the West Indies Cricket Board.”

The spinner was reported for a particular ball during the match against Rajshahi Kings, which he bowled in the 19th over of that match. Earlier, Arafat Sunny was suspected for illegal bowling action during the ICC World Twenty/20 in India. Later was cleared to ball by International Cricket Council after giving bowling test in Laboratory.

Whereas Kevon Cooper of Khulna Titans has been reported for his illegal bowling action several times. He was officially reported during the Indian Premier League- IPL in 2014 and Pakistan Super league- PSL, last year. There was doubt over his bowling action regularly that is why he is seen in the domestic Twenty/20 leagues only. He does not get to play in the first class cricket let alone the national team. Therefore he have played 148 twenty/20s, but only two first class matches and 16 list A matches.
