Several cocktail bomb explosions occurred in front of the venue hosting an event of Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the National Citizens Party (NCP) for the northern region, in Bogura.
The incident took place on Monday afternoon (October 20) during an organizational coordination meeting at the Bogura District Council auditorium.
Sarjis Alam confirmed the incident through a post on his verified Facebook page.
He stated, “The current security arrangements raise concerns about a potential unstable situation for the future of Bangladesh and its people. Those involved must be unmasked and brought to justice. I urge the interim government and authorities to stay vigilant.”
Bogura Sadar Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Hasan Bashir said that multiple police teams are investigating the incident and those responsible will be identified and swiftly brought to justice. No one will be spared.
