‘Indian Idol 12’ winner Pawandeep Rajan is currently in the ICU at Fortis Hospital in Delhi following a serious road accident early Monday morning. The incident occurred on the Delhi National Highway in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, when his car collided with a heavy goods truck.
Bystanders rushed Pawandeep and other injured passengers to a local hospital, from where he was later shifted to Fortis for advanced treatment. Hospital sources confirmed that he suffered head injuries and multiple fractures, necessitating a complex six-hour-long surgery.
An official statement from Pawandeep’s Instagram account informed fans that his condition is now stable, though another surgery will be required. Doctors have kept him under observation for three to four days before making further decisions regarding his treatment.
Reports indicate that the accident occurred because the driver of the vehicle dozed off at the wheel, causing the car to lose control and crash into the truck. Pawandeep was reportedly en route to Ahmedabad to attend a music event.
Pawandeep rose to fame after winning ‘The Voice India’ in 2015 and gained nationwide recognition with his victory in ‘Indian Idol 12’ in 2021.
