The Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, has stated that the ongoing attacks between India and Pakistan will bring no benefit to either side.
In a post on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday (May 7), he made this comment.
In the post, he wrote that recent tensions between the two countries have escalated following a terrorist attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists. He added that both countries have retaliated with attacks, and such actions will bring no good to either side.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman further emphasized that a fair, impartial, and international investigation into the incident should take place. Both sides must play a responsible role. War will never be beneficial to anyone. He also expressed sincere hopes for a permanent solution to the issues faced by the people of Kashmir.
Furthermore, after the attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22, tensions between India and Pakistan reached a peak. While India blamed Pakistan for the attack, Islamabad denied the allegations. After both sides took retaliatory actions, India launched a major attack on Pakistan. The Pakistan military reported that 26 people were killed in the attack, while India claims the death toll is between 80-90.
