The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced a one-day suspension of visitor entry to the Bangladesh Secretariat. In a press release issued on Monday (May 26), the ministry stated that due to unavoidable circumstances, all types of visitor access will be restricted on Tuesday (May 27).
Meanwhile, officials and employees from various ministries and departments have once again announced protest programs demanding the withdrawal of the “Public Service (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025.” As part of the movement, they plan to gather at the Secretariat’s Badamtoli area at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, marching from their respective ministries and departments.
Following Monday’s demonstration, the "Bangladesh Secretariat Officers and Employees Unity Forum" announced their next steps. Md. Badiul Kabir, Co-Chairman of the forum and President of one faction of the Secretariat Officers-Employees Coordinated Council, stated, "The protest will continue until this black law is completely repealed." He added that all future demonstrations will be organized under the banner of the Unity Forum.
In addition, they called upon government employees across the country to hold similar programs in solidarity.
