The longstanding rivals of South Asia, India and Pakistan, continue their competition in nuclear capabilities. Following recent clashes, Pakistan is rapidly expanding and modernizing its nuclear arsenal. According to the Global Firepower report, Pakistan currently possesses around 140 to 150 nuclear weapons, slightly more than India’s stockpile.
In addition to advanced Chinese-made drones, Pakistan is strengthening its nuclear command and control systems to boost its military power. The U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has revealed these covert modernization efforts. Military analysts warn that this arms buildup could escalate nuclear tensions across the South Asian region.
