Selim R. F. Hussain, Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer of BRAC Bank, has resigned from his position, citing personal reasons. He confirmed his resignation on Tuesday, May 27.

“I have submitted my resignation to the Board, and they have accepted it,” Hussain stated. “The resignation has now been sent to Bangladesh Bank for approval. I hope it will be approved without issue. There is no pressure or internal conflict behind this decision—it is entirely personal.”

In a farewell message to BRAC Bank employees, Hussain wrote:
“Dear colleagues, all good things must come to an end, and my journey with BRAC Bank is nearing its conclusion. Today will likely be my last working day at the bank. It has been an incredible honor to work alongside you for nearly a decade. Together, we have built a remarkable institution that has become a role model in the country’s banking sector.”

He continued, “I firmly believe BRAC Bank will continue to grow and make even greater contributions to the economy and society. I wish you all continued success in your personal and professional lives. Please keep me and my family in your prayers.”

BRAC Bank has confirmed the resignation and stated that it has been forwarded to Bangladesh Bank for formal approval.
