The youth rally organized by BNP’s three affiliate groups — Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal, and Swechasebak Dal — began this afternoon with a huge influx of party activists and supporters. The streets of Nayapaltan have turned into a sea of people. The rally kicked off at 2 PM on Wednesday (May 28) in front of BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan, Dhaka. Activists and supporters started gathering from the morning, arriving in small processions that gradually grew larger. Soon, the area was packed with enthusiastic participants. This event, titled “Rally for Establishing the Political Rights of Youth,” is a coordinated effort by the Nationalist Jubo Dal, Swechasebak Dal, and Chhatra Dal from the Dhaka, Faridpur, Sylhet, and Mymensingh divisions. Organizers expect around 1.5 million young people to attend from these regions. Ahead of the rally, processions of activists have been gathering throughout Nayapaltan and surrounding neighborhoods. The stage for the rally has been set up directly opposite the BNP central office. Due to road closures in front of the stage, heavy traffic jams have developed on nearby streets. BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman is joining the event virtually as the chief guest. He is expected to address the youth, sharing the party’s vision for the nation, political plans, and future strategies. Other notable attendees include BNP standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, and Salahuddin Ahmed. BNP has stated that the main purpose of the rally is to send a positive message focusing on the concerns, hopes, and political engagement of the country’s youth. Earlier in May, the youth wings announced a series of programs aimed at strengthening direct connections with young people and clarifying the party’s stance. These included seminars and rallies over eight days in major divisional cities and the capital. Following successful events in Chattogram, Khulna, and Bogura, the grand finale is taking place today in front of BNP’s central office in Dhaka’s Nayapaltan.
