Dr. Abdul Moin Khan, a member of BNP’s Standing Committee, stated, “We achieved our first victory in July-August, but the movement has not stopped. We are now in the second phase of victory.”

He made these remarks during the youth rally held in front of BNP’s central office at Nayapaltan on Wednesday afternoon (28 May).

He said, “Today’s grand rally has turned into a vast gathering of youth. Under the leadership of Tarique Rahman, the youth of Bangladesh have awakened. The fascist dictatorship tried to destroy our country, but the youth and student community played a crucial role.”

Dr. Moin Khan added, “Bangladesh must be steered towards democracy. A clear and prompt roadmap for elections must be provided. The people want democracy. We have cooperated with the government and will continue to do so, but power must be transferred to representatives elected by the people. Otherwise, the interim government will not be able to survive the protests of the agitated youth.”

At the rally, BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman joined virtually from London as the chief guest and addressed the gathering.

The rally, themed “Establishing the Political Rights of Youth,” was organized by BNP’s three affiliated and allied organizations — the Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, and Chhatra Dal — with coordination across the Dhaka, Mymensingh, Sylhet, and Faridpur divisions.

The event was presided over by Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal President Monayem Munna, with Swechchhasebak Dal General Secretary Rajib Ahsan and Chhatra Dal General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir serving as hosts. BNP Standing Committee members including Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, and Salahuddin Ahmed also spoke at the rally.
