During a youth gathering in Nayapaltan, allegations arose against Robiul Islam Nayon, Secretary of the Dhaka Metropolitan South unit of the Jubo Dal, accusing him of physically confronting a street vendor. A video of the incident went viral on social media.
In response, Nayon issued a public apology on Facebook, stating, “An unintended incident occurred where I accidentally pushed a street vendor while trying to maintain discipline among hundreds of thousands of activists. I deeply regret this and acknowledge that, as a responsible leader, I should have been more careful. I will be more cautious in the future to avoid such incidents.”
He further expressed his strong loyalty and respect for BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, saying, “My emotions, love, and highest respect are with Tarique Rahman. I consider all party members as brothers in spirit, forming a family bound by mutual affection and discipline.”
Nayon added, “I love our activists and discipline them when necessary. Despite challenges like storms, bullets, and tear gas, these activists stand firm for the country and the party, risking their lives. I share a brotherly bond with them. Attempts by critics to divide us through partial videos or propaganda will not succeed. Our struggle for the nation and party will continue, Inshallah.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to the party and promised to maintain unity moving forward.
