In anticipation of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha and the scheduled summer vacation, all levels of educational institutions across Bangladesh are closing for an extended break. However, the duration and start dates of the holidays differ depending on the type of institution.

Secondary, Madrasa, and Technical Institutions Begin Holiday from June 1
From Sunday, June 1, secondary schools, madrasas, and technical institutions have officially started their Eid and summer break. Since May 30 and 31 (Friday and Saturday) were weekends, many of these institutions effectively closed from May 29.

Madrasas Receive the Longest Break – 25 Days
Government Alia madrasas and private Ebtedayee, Dakhil, Alim, Fazil, and Kamil madrasas will remain closed from June 1 to June 25. Classes will resume on June 26. This 25-day break is the longest among all educational levels.

23-Day Holiday for Secondary Schools
Secondary schools will be on vacation from June 1 to June 19. With the addition of the weekend (June 20–21), classes will resume on June 22. This results in a total of 23 days of holiday.

Technical Institutions Also Get 21 Days Off
Under the Technical Education Board, institutions will close from June 1 to June 19. After the weekend break, classes will resume on June 22—making for a total holiday of 21 days.

Primary Schools Start Vacation on June 3
Primary schools will begin their Eid and summer break on June 3, which will continue through June 22. Classes are scheduled to resume on June 23, giving students and teachers a 21-day break.

Colleges Receive the Shortest Break – 10 Days Only
Government and private colleges will observe only the Eid-ul-Azha break, from June 3 to June 12. Unlike other levels, there is no summer vacation included, resulting in a brief 10-day holiday.

The holiday schedule has been finalized based on the official academic calendars released by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. Authorities stated that although the duration of the break varies by level due to structural differences in the education system, the aim is to ensure that all students and teachers can enjoy the Eid festivities and summer respite comfortably.
