For the past several days, different parts of the country have experienced intermittent rain and storms. With Eid-ul-Azha approaching, many are wondering if the weather will dampen the celebrations. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has now released a forecast that sheds light on the situation.
On Tuesday (June 3), a weather bulletin signed by meteorologist Afroza Sultana indicated that various parts of the country are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds during the Eid period. In some areas, there may even be heavy rainfall.
🔹 From Tuesday (June 3) – Next 5 Days:
🔹 Wednesday (June 4):
Frequent rain is likely in Sylhet, with scattered rain expected in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barishal, and Chattogram.
Daytime temperatures may decrease slightly; nighttime temperatures are expected to remain stable.
🔹 Thursday (June 5) to Saturday (June 7):
Isolated light to moderate rain or thundershowers are possible across all divisions, including Dhaka.
No significant changes in temperature are expected during this period, though a slight rise in temperatures may occur on Saturday.
While rain is expected during the Eid period, it is unlikely to be widespread or persistent enough to cause major disruptions. However, certain areas—particularly Sylhet and Chattogram—may see heavier showers.
The Meteorological Department also noted that temperatures may gradually rise over the next five days.
Bottom Line:
Eid celebrations may see occasional rain in some parts of the country, so keeping an umbrella or raincoat handy would be wise.
