The pay fixation process for government employees under the new national pay scale will begin on Monday, October 5. The process will be completed online through the Pay Fixation module of iBAS++.
The Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance has instructed that the pay fixation of all government employees be completed by October 20. However, employees will need to provide more than just basic information. Details regarding previous pay fixation, promotions, transfers, time scale, selection grade, higher grade and other aspects of their service history must also be entered accurately.
Any incorrect or incomplete information could create complications in determining the new basic salary and may also affect the calculation of arrears.
Before completing the pay fixation process on iBAS++, employees should have the following information ready:
National ID (NID) number
Date of birth
Current designation and grade
Date of joining government service
Basic salary as of June 30, 2026
Previous pay-fixation records
Details of promotions and transfers
Time scale, selection grade or higher-grade information
Relevant office orders and supporting documents
An active mobile number registered with iBAS++
Errors in a name, NID number, date of birth, designation, grade or basic salary may require correction and could delay the pay-fixation process.
Similarly, failing to include information about promotions, transfers, time scale, selection grade or higher grade could lead to errors in determining the new salary. Employees are therefore advised to keep all relevant office orders and documents ready beforehand.
Simply submitting information online will not complete the process. The relevant accounts office will verify the information against official service records. If discrepancies are found, corrections may be required. Employees facing difficulties can seek assistance from the concerned accounts officer.
After the online information is submitted, the relevant pay and accounts office will cross-check it against the employee’s official records. Final approval will be given if the information is found to be accurate.
Once approved, iBAS++ will automatically generate a verification number. The verification number and newly fixed salary will then be recorded in the employee’s official service documents.
After pay fixation is completed, October salary bills will be prepared based on the new basic salaries. At the same time, the difference between the old and new salaries will be calculated to determine approximately three months of arrears.
However, the amount of arrears will not be the same for everyone. It will depend on factors including the employee’s grade, basic salary as of June 30, 2026, newly fixed salary and the effective date of the revised pay structure.
Therefore, employees should ensure that both their current salary information and complete service history are entered accurately during the pay-fixation process.
