But long before the fame, the red carpets, and the flashing cameras, her life held a quiet, heartfelt love story—now buried in time, yet recently brought back into the spotlight by her former boyfriend, model and actor Muzamil Ibrahim.
When Deepika first arrived in Mumbai to pursue her dreams, she crossed paths with Muzamil, who was already a well-known face in the modeling world and had appeared in several popular music videos and television shows. According to Muzamil, he was far ahead in terms of career and earnings at the time.
In a recent interview, Muzamil revealed, “It was Deepika who first confessed her feelings. We ended up being in a relationship for about two years. We shared some beautiful moments—walking hand in hand in the rain, riding around in auto-rickshaws—it was simple, but special.”
He added, “People already knew her as Prakash Padukone’s daughter. She didn’t really have to work hard to get noticed. Watching her now, so successful and admired, makes me happy. It also brings back memories of those early days.”
Muzamil also shared that they remained in touch even after they broke up, right up until Deepika’s wedding. “I congratulated her on her success. But after she married Ranveer Singh, we lost all contact.”
