Real Madrid defeated Barcelona 2–1 at Camp Nou in the first El Clásico of the year, with Kylian Mbappé scoring both goals.

Real Madrid coach José Mourinho celebrated Mbappé’s decisive goal in spectacular fashion, sliding on his knees across the pitch despite being 63 years old. His celebration quickly became a talking point on social media.

Mbappé’s winning goal came in the 87th minute, sealing a memorable victory against a Barcelona side that had won its previous 18 league matches at home.

The victory also placed Mourinho alongside two legendary Real Madrid coaches. He became the third coach in the club’s history to remain unbeaten in six or more consecutive El Clásico matches.

Miguel Muñoz’s Real Madrid won seven consecutive El Clásico matches between 1962 and 1965, while Vicente del Bosque’s team went unbeaten in seven consecutive encounters between 2001 and 2003.

Mourinho’s latest achievement further strengthens his place among the notable coaches in Real Madrid’s history.
