Dhaka's metro rail service resumed operations on Sunday, June 8, following a one-day suspension on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. From 8:30 AM onwards, commuters in the capital were once again able to use the service.
In an official notice, the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) announced that passengers are prohibited from carrying certain items while traveling on the metro rail. The banned items include raw or cooked meat and sacrificial animal hides.
To enforce this directive, security personnel will conduct thorough checks at the entrances of all metro stations. Any passenger found carrying these restricted items will be denied access to the station, the notice stated.
DMTCL also informed that from Monday, June 9, the metro rail will operate on its public holiday schedule.
