Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday is an annual celebration for his fans. Every year on November 2, thousands of admirers gather outside his Mumbai residence, Mannat, in Bandra, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favourite star. However, the familiar tradition will take a break this year, as the actor will not host his customary birthday meet-and-greet with fans on his 61st birthday.

The main reason behind the decision is his upcoming film, King. Due to his busy shooting schedule, Shah Rukh is reportedly unable to set aside enough time to meet his fans on his birthday this year. However, there are indications that his team may consider alternative ways to organise a special event for his admirers.

The excitement surrounding Shah Rukh’s birthday is nothing new. Every year, fans travel to Mumbai from different parts of India and even abroad to celebrate the occasion. Many gather outside Mannat for hours, hoping to catch a glimpse of the superstar. Keeping their enthusiasm in mind, special arrangements have traditionally been made for him to meet his fans on his birthday.

This year, however, circumstances are different. According to reports, Shah Rukh’s production company, Red Chillies Entertainment, has informed fan clubs that the scheduled event on November 2 cannot take place because the production of King has reached a crucial stage.

There had even been plans to organise the celebration at a larger venue to accommodate more fans. However, the demands of the film’s production have made it difficult to proceed with those arrangements.

Acknowledging the disappointment among fans, Shah Rukh’s team has reportedly expressed regret over the decision. At the same time, the team has offered a glimmer of hope, suggesting that it may explore opportunities to organise a larger gathering with fans before the film’s release.

No date or details for an alternative event have been confirmed yet.
