A heartwarming moment at a government primary school in Sunamganj has captured the attention of social media users. During a break between classes, the school’s headteacher was seen personally sewing a student’s torn shirt. An assistant teacher captured the moment in a photograph and shared it on Facebook, and the image has since gone viral.

The incident took place at Berikandi Borkhola Government Primary School in Dharmapasha upazila of Sunamganj.

On Thursday (October 29), an account named Khairun Nahar Lipi shared the photograph along with a description of the headteacher’s thoughtful gesture. Many social media users have since shared the post, expressing their admiration and affection for the teacher.

According to Kalbela’s Sunamganj correspondent, the school’s headteacher, Naila, is already well known in the area for her caring attitude towards students. Such gestures of kindness are reportedly a regular part of her relationship with them.

In her Facebook post, assistant teacher Khairun Nahar Lipi explained that headteacher Naila regularly looks after students while managing the school’s administrative responsibilities and teaching activities.

On this particular day, she noticed that one student’s shirt was torn. Rather than asking someone else to fix it, she immediately picked up a needle, thread and scissors and carefully stitched the shirt herself.

Describing the moment, Lipi wrote that Naila is usually seen managing the entire school with great efficiency, but on this day, her caring side came to the forefront. Setting aside her administrative responsibilities, she personally took up the needle and thread and mended the student’s shirt with affection.

She further wrote that a school is not merely an institution confined within four walls; it is also a family built on care and compassion. Through her actions, Naila had once again demonstrated this very spirit.

Lipi also described working alongside such a compassionate and exceptional person as one of the greatest privileges of her professional life.

Following the post’s circulation on social media, numerous users have praised the headteacher’s thoughtful initiative.
