The National Citizens’ Party (NCP) aims to complete its registration process within the current month, according to the party’s chief organizer for the northern region, Sarjis Alam.

Speaking to journalists on Monday (June 9) in his hometown of Atwari, Sarjis stated, “Following the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, we are resuming our scheduled organizational activities. It’s essential to complete the party’s registration within a short time frame. There are several formal criteria that we must meet, including the formation of district and sub-district committees. We plan to fulfill all these requirements and complete the registration process by the end of June.”

Sarjis emphasized that in order to become relevant in Bangladeshi politics, it is crucial to reach every household. “If we can connect with people at the grassroots level, our organizational structure will strengthen and our political foundation will become more solid. That’s why we are working to establish coordination committees in every district and sub-district,” he said.

He further added that an interim convening committee will be formed within a month. Subsequently, leadership will be established at the district and sub-district levels, followed by the formation of union and ward-level committees. “We expect to form NCP committees in every ward across Bangladesh within the next two to three months. Through this organizational expansion, we aim to work toward the structural reforms we envision for the future of Bangladesh,” he said.

Regarding upcoming elections, Sarjis expressed hope for a fair and transparent electoral process. “We want to see an end to the misuse of muscle power, black money, and political influence. Incidents like vote rigging, ballot box theft, or polling center occupation should never happen again. We expect the interim government and law enforcement agencies to uphold the highest level of professionalism in ensuring free and fair elections,” he concluded.
