The application process for primary school teacher transfers is currently ongoing. Meanwhile, reports have surfaced about a fraudulent group extorting bribes from teachers by offering transfer opportunities. To protect teachers from falling victim to this scam, the Primary Education Directorate has issued an urgent alert. All concerned parties have been instructed to remain vigilant against such fraudulent activities.

This alert was issued in a letter signed by Education Officer Md. Roknuzzaman on Thursday.

The letter warns that this is the work of a fraudulent group attempting to illegally extract large sums of money under the guise of teacher transfers. The transfer process is not under the jurisdiction of the administration, and all teachers, officials, and relevant individuals have been advised to be cautious of such deceptive communications.

Furthermore, the Primary Education Directorate has clarified that a person, posing as the Director (Administration) of the Directorate, has been calling teachers from schools with fewer than 20 students, demanding 30,000 taka for transfers. However, the authorities have confirmed that this number is not used by any of their officials or employees, and there is no connection between this activity and the administration department.

The Directorate has also warned that legal action will be taken against anyone involved in such fraudulent activities.
