In the past 24 hours, a special operation by the police across the country has led to the arrest of 1,072 individuals who were wanted in cases or had warrants against them. Additionally, 570 people were arrested in other incidents. During the operation, various local weapons, pistols, and ammunition were seized. This information was shared by the Additional Inspector General (Media and PR) of the Police Headquarters, Inamul Haque Sagar, on Friday.
He stated that in the past 24 hours, the police arrested 1,072 individuals with cases or warrants against them, while 570 others were arrested in different incidents, making a total of 1,642 arrests.
The operation resulted in the recovery of one pistol, one single-barrel shotgun, five pipe guns, two one-shot guns, one magazine, four rounds of ammunition, four rounds of cartridges, five Chinese machetes, one cleaver, three knives, one sword, three daggers, one pair of scissors, one hammer, one stick, three rods, one rope, and one sulphur. The police have confirmed that the special operation will continue.
Earlier, on April 22, the police also reported the arrest of over 1,600 individuals in a special operation, of which 906 were wanted in cases or had warrants, while 704 were arrested in other incidents.
