A total of 62 members of the Bangladesh Police are set to receive the Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) and the President Police Medal (PPM) this year in recognition of their outstanding service, bravery, and heroic contributions.
Compared to previous years, the number of recipients has been significantly reduced. Only those who have shown exceptional courage and dedication in the line of duty have been selected. The awards are given annually in four categories: BPM for Bravery, BPM for Service, PPM for Bravery, and PPM for Service.
The police headquarters has finalized the list of awardees and submitted it to the Ministry of Home Affairs for approval. The official gazette notification is expected to be published within this week.
The three-day Police Week 2025 will begin on April 29 at the Rajarbagh Police Lines Auditorium. This will be the first Police Week observed under the current caretaker government.
Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus will inaugurate the event. After a special assembly, he will formally present the BPM and PPM medals to the selected police officers.
