CSD’s Initiative: Honor and Discussion Session for Marginalized Farmers and Workers on Labor Day

On May 1, 2025, in celebration of International Labor Day, the Center for Social Development (CSD) organized a successful event titled “Honoring Marginalized Farmers and Workers and Discussion Session,” with the theme “Labor Day Commitment—Workers Will Receive Respect and Fair Rights.”

The event was presided over by CSD’s esteemed Chairman, Mr. Anisul Islam. The Chief Guest for the occasion was the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Kalmakanda, Mrs. Faizul Wasima Nahat. Special guests included the Upazila Agriculture Officer, Mr. Saiful Islam, the Principal of Anandpur High School and College, Mr. Umar Faruk, and the Headmaster of Kalmakanda Pilot High School, Mr. Mosharraf Hossain.

Local BNP President, Mr. Abdul Aziz, along with leaders from affiliated and partner organizations, marginalized farmers and workers, and respected individuals from various walks of life also attended the event.

The history, significance, and struggles for the rights of the working class were discussed in detail during the event. The speakers emphasized that “Labor Day is not just a holiday; it is a symbol of the sacrifices and the ongoing struggle for workers’ rights.”

Thanks to the dedicated support from CSD’s volunteers, organizers, and well-wishers, the event was executed successfully in a well-organized manner.
