Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, held a courtesy meeting with the Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh, Christian Brinks Møller, at the Jamaat-e-Islami office in Bashundhara, Dhaka. The meeting and breakfast were held on the morning of Tuesday, October 14 at 9 AM. Accompanying the ambassador was Deputy Head of Mission Anders B. Carlsen.
The meeting took place in a warm and cordial atmosphere. The ambassador began by enquiring after Dr. Rahman’s health and wished him a swift and full recovery.
Discussion topics included the upcoming national elections in Bangladesh. Both sides emphasized the importance of holding free, fair, and acceptable elections, and requested Denmark’s support—both technical and general—for this process.
They also held constructive discussions on ensuring the sustainability of democracy in Bangladesh and the independence of democratic institutions. Both parties expressed optimism that bilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Denmark and Bangladesh would gain momentum in the future.
From Jamaat-e-Islami’s side, the Amir was joined by Assistant Secretary General and Head of Central Media and Publicity, Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Jubayer, as well as the party’s Foreign Affairs Adviser, Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan.
