BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir stated that the nation’s political and economic future hinges on the upcoming election. He emphasized that there is no alternative to democracy.
Speaking as the chief guest at an extended meeting of BNP’s Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila and Ruhia Thana units held on Tuesday (October 14) at the Thakurgaon District Shilpakala Academy auditorium, Fakhrul stressed the need for cautious and careful political action, warning against any mistakes and opposing fascism.
He noted that after a period of harsh authoritarian rule, democracy has been restored through a mass uprising led by students and the public. Many leaders suffered false accusations and imprisonment but are now free to live openly. Fakhrul expressed gratitude to everyone involved in this struggle.
The meeting was attended by BNP district president Mirza Faisal Amin, general secretary Paigam Ali, Sadar Upazila president Abdul Hamid, general secretary Mahabub Hossain Tuhin, and other party leaders and activists.
