On behalf of Tarique Rahman, the acting chairman of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), a new auto rickshaw was gifted to a disabled man in Netrokona.
On Monday (October 15), Abdullah Al Mamun Khan Roni, former vice president of the district Jubo Dal and BNP leader, handed over the auto rickshaw to the beneficiary.
Abul Bashar, the recipient, is a resident of Kadli village in Rouha Union, Netrokona Sadar. He became disabled after contracting typhoid fever in 2019. As the sole breadwinner of his family, he supported them by driving an auto rickshaw. However, his rickshaw was recently stolen, leaving his family in severe financial hardship.
Living with his elderly mother and a fifth-grade son, Abul Bashar struggled to make ends meet. Upon learning of his situation, Abdullah Al Mamun Khan Roni arranged for a new auto rickshaw from Tarique Rahman’s side.
Expressing his gratitude, Abul Bashar said, “I thought I would never be able to drive an auto rickshaw again. Now, with this new vehicle, I can support my family once more. I am forever thankful to Tarique Rahman and Roni Bhai.”
Local BNP leaders and activists were also present, affirming that the party will continue its efforts to support the vulnerable and needy in society.
