BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s physical condition is currently stable, according to Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, a member of the party’s Standing Committee.
Speaking to reporters on Friday (October 17) after paying tribute at the grave of BNP founder and former President Ziaur Rahman in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dr. Zahid provided an update on her health.
He said, “Madam’s (Khaleda Zia’s) overall condition is now stable. Her health has improved compared to when she was first admitted to the hospital.”
Dr. Zahid also mentioned that once all necessary medical tests are completed, the medical board will decide on her discharge, and she may return home soon based on their recommendation.
Earlier, on Wednesday night (October 16), Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka for medical examinations.
The former Prime Minister has been suffering from multiple chronic conditions, including arthritis, diabetes, kidney issues, lung complications, and vision problems.
