BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has returned home after undergoing health check-ups at the hospital.
On Friday night, around 11:30 PM, she left Evercare Hospital in the capital and arrived at her residence, Firoza, in Gulshan.
Shayrul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP’s media cell, confirmed that Begum Khaleda Zia reached Firoza at 11:30 PM.
She was accompanied by her personal physician and BNP Standing Committee member, Professor Dr. A.Z.M. Zahid Hossain.
Earlier, Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital late Wednesday night for health examinations.
Following her admission, several medical tests were conducted. After reviewing the results, the medical board advised that she be taken home for further care.
On Friday, after visiting the shrine of BNP founder Shahid President Ziaur Rahman, Dr. Zahid Hossain told reporters that Khaleda Zia’s condition is stable.
He stated, “Madam’s overall condition is stable now. She is in a much better state compared to when she was admitted to the hospital.”
The nearly 80-year-old former Prime Minister has been suffering from various health issues, including liver cirrhosis, kidney complications, heart disease, diabetes, and arthritis. On January 8, she traveled to the UK for advanced treatment, receiving care under specialists Professor Patrick Kennedy and Professor Jennifer Cross at London Clinic. After treatment abroad, she returned to Bangladesh on May 6.
