Actor and YouTuber Shamim Hasan Sarkar recently faced serious allegations from actress Priyanka Priya, accusing him of verbal abuse, issuing rape threats, and substance use on a shooting set. While Shamim initially denied the accusations in a press conference, several other actresses from the industry also came forward with complaints about his inappropriate behavior, sparking widespread backlash on social media.
Following the controversy, the Bangladesh Actors’ Association intervened and facilitated a resolution between the involved parties. On Thursday night (May 15), a video was posted on the Association’s official Facebook page, where Shamim publicly apologized to Priyanka, as well as to his fans and well-wishers.
In the video, Shamim said, “I had an unpleasant incident with actress Priyanka. I misbehaved and used offensive language. I’ve met her today and apologized. I’m truly ashamed of my actions.”
He also admitted that his temper may have hurt others in the past and expressed regret, stating, “If my words have caused pain to anyone, I sincerely apologize. I promise this won’t happen again. No one will experience such behavior from me in the future.”
In an official statement, the Actors’ Association confirmed that since Shamim is a member of the organization, he has been given a final warning for violating professional conduct and discipline. They added that if similar complaints are substantiated in the future, his membership may be revoked through formal procedures.
