Bollywood is plunged into grief with the news of another untimely death. Popular actor Mukul Dev passed away on Friday night (May 23) at the age of 54, according to a report by NDTV.
The cause of his death has not been officially disclosed yet. Neither his family nor close associates have issued any statement so far.
However, actress and close friend Deepshikha Nagpal confirmed the news on her Instagram story by sharing an old picture with Mukul, captioned, “Can’t believe this. Rest in peace.”
Mukul Dev was last seen in the Hindi film Anth The End. He was the younger brother of Bollywood actor Rahul Dev.
He began his acting career in 1996 with the television serial Mumkin, playing the role of Vijay Pandey. He also participated in the popular Doordarshan show Ek Se Bad Kar Ek and hosted the first season of Fair Function India.
His film career started with Dastak, where he portrayed the character of ACP Rohit Malhotra.
Besides acting, Mukul Dev was a trained pilot. He had undergone pilot training at the Indira Gandhi Institute of State Flying.
Mukul Dev won the hearts of audiences with several memorable roles in Bollywood. His sudden demise has left colleagues and fans deeply saddened.
