Carlo Ancelotti has officially begun his journey as the head coach of the Brazil national team by announcing his first squad. Notably absent from the 25-man list is star forward Neymar, who is still not fully fit despite returning from injury.

The squad has been named for Brazil’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador on June 5 and Paraguay on June 10.

While Neymar misses out, the team features experienced names like Casemiro, Marquinhos, Richarlison, Antony, and Raphinha. Promising young talents like Estevão and Andrey Santos have also earned call-ups.

Addressing Neymar’s omission, Ancelotti said, “He’s on his way back from injury but isn’t 100% yet. I spoke with him, and he understands the situation.”

Ancelotti emphasized that his focus is firmly on building a balanced squad of youth and experience with the 2026 World Cup in mind.

Ancelotti’s 25-man Brazil squad:
Goalkeepers: Alisson, Bento, Hugo Souza
Defenders: Danilo, Vanderson, Alex Sandro, Carlos Augusto, Wesley, Alexsandro, Beraldo, Léo Ortiz, Marquinhos
Midfielders: Andreas Pereira, Andrey Santos, Bruno Guimarães, Casemiro, Ederson, Gerson
Forwards: Antony, Estevão, Martinelli, Cunha, Raphinha, Richarlison, Vinícius Júnior

Under Ancelotti’s leadership, Brazil embarks on a new journey—with one ultimate goal: a sixth World Cup title.
