Reaffirming Pakistan’s support for Iran, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has voiced strong backing for Tehran’s peaceful civilian nuclear program. He also emphasized the commitment of both nations to work together in enhancing regional security, trade, and investment.
During his official visit to Iran, Shehbaz held a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. Speaking at a joint press conference afterward, the Pakistani premier stated, “Islamabad fully supports Iran’s right to pursue a peaceful nuclear program. Both countries will cooperate closely on matters of mutual interest.”
According to Pakistan’s state news agency APP, the two leaders held productive and constructive talks focused on expanding bilateral cooperation across political, economic, and international spheres. They also agreed on implementing previously signed agreements to boost collaboration.
“Pakistan and Iran, as brotherly neighbors, must further strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, and economic development,” Shehbaz added.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to promote regional peace and stability through joint efforts.
