To mark the 44th death anniversary of BNP founder and former President Shaheed Ziaur Rahman, a prayer and milad mahfil was held in the capital on Saturday. The event was organized by the Kotwali Thana unit of Jubo Dal, the youth wing of BNP. On this occasion, Dhaka South City Jubo Dal Member-Secretary Robiul Islam Noyon distributed food and prayer mats to orphans and madrasa students.

Speaking at the event, Noyon said, “Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman dedicated his life to serving Islam and the country. Without his leadership, the emergence of an independent Bangladesh may not have been possible. It was through his declaration that the liberation war took shape. Similarly, Begum Khaleda Zia has spent her life tirelessly working for the people’s welfare.”

He added, “Serving those who are devout Muslims, madrasa students, and orphans is a blessing for us. Tarique Rahman, our national leader, continues this noble mission with sincerity and dedication. He always puts the interests of the people first and has earned a special place in their hearts.”

Noyon prayed for the forgiveness and peace of Ziaur Rahman’s soul and wished good health and a long life for Begum Khaleda Zia.

Addressing national concerns, he urged unity against foreign interference, stating, “We must remain vigilant and united against any attempts of aggression, particularly from Indian forces, that threaten our sovereignty.”

At the end of the event, Robiul Islam Noyon, on behalf of Tarique Rahman, personally handed over prayer mats to madrasa students and pledged to stand by orphaned children in any situation.
