Following four consecutive days of heavy rainfall, several low-lying areas under the Rupnagar Police Station in Dhaka’s Pallabi have been inundated, severely impacting local residents. In response, BNP’s Central Sports Affairs Secretary and Convener of Dhaka North City BNP, Aminul Haque, has been distributing freshly cooked meals three times a day to approximately 3,000 affected families in his electoral area.
On Sunday, June 1, Aminul Haque personally visited the flooded slums to oversee relief operations. He listened to the concerns of residents, assured them of continued support, and pledged that assistance would continue as long as the suffering persists.
The areas receiving daily meals include Beguntola Slum in Ward 2, Bawnia Bandh Slum in Ward 5, Doaripara and Arambagh slums under Ward 92 of Rupnagar Police Station, as well as the T Block and Chalantika slums in Regional Ward 6. The food is prepared near the affected locations under the direct supervision of Aminul Haque and his team.
While distributing food, Aminul Haque stated, “This support will continue for as long as the residents remain in hardship due to waterlogging. We are committed to standing by these families every day.”
He also added, “President Ziaur Rahman always stood by the people, and we continue to follow his ideals. Our goal is to serve the people and support them in their time of need.”
Aminul Haque was accompanied by Dhaka North BNP Joint Conveners Haji Md. Yusuf and Mahbub Alam Montu, along with North BNP member Sajjad Hossain Mollah and other local leaders.
