‘Janata Party Bangladesh’ Will Work with Integrity for the Country: Ilyas Kanchan

Ilyas Kanchan, the chairman of the newly formed political party ‘Janata Party Bangladesh,’ has assured that the party will work with integrity for the country’s welfare. He made this statement during the official launch event of the party at a hotel in the capital on Friday morning, April 25.

Ilyas Kanchan said, “Just as I have worked with integrity for the people of this country in the past, I will continue to do so in the future.” He also highlighted the lack of support from previous governments during the safe roads movement and stressed the importance of governmental cooperation and political will in such matters.

A Centrist, Democracy-Driven Party

The General Secretary of Janata Party Bangladesh, Shaukat Mahmood, stated that the party would be a centrist, democracy-loving party. He emphasized that the party would take a firm stand against fascist governance. He also mentioned that the ideals of the July revolution and its charter are crucial for the nation and urged the creation of a new national unity to pursue these goals.

The launch event was attended by various prominent individuals, including Shah Mohammad Abu Zafar, acting chairman of BNP, Professor Dr. Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, chairman of the National Election Observer Council (JANIPOP), as well as several distinguished lawyers, retired government, and military officials.
