Retired Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury of the Bangladesh Supreme Court has been appointed as a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA).
The announcement of his appointment was made through a press release on April 25, signed by KM Khalid Bin Zaman, the Public Relations Officer of the Enforced Disappearances Inquiry Commission. Earlier, on April 23, PCA Secretary-General Marcin Czepelak sent a congratulatory message to Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury.
Currently, Justice Chowdhury serves as the Chairperson of the Enforced Disappearances Inquiry Commission, which operates with the status of an Appellate Division Judge. He is also the Chairperson of the National Review Committee on Contract Review in the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources.
This significant appointment is expected to further enhance the international stature of Bangladesh’s judiciary.
