Bangladesh Railway has started selling advance train tickets for Eid-ul-Azha, which will take place on June 7th. To facilitate the travel of people heading home for the holiday, the sale of tickets for June 1st has begun today. This year, all train tickets for Eid travel will be available for purchase online for the convenience of passengers.
The sale of tickets for trains in the western region began at 8:00 AM on Thursday (May 22), and from 2:00 PM, tickets for trains in the eastern region will be sold.
According to the railway’s ticketing website, tickets for trains traveling to the northern region are in the highest demand. By 8:30 AM, most tickets for these trains had already been sold out. However, some tickets for certain trains are still available.
The Railway has announced that this Eid, 10 special trains will run on five routes. Some of these trains will operate from June 4 to 6 and from June 9 to 14, after Eid.
Additionally, a few special trains will run on Eid day. Tickets for these special trains can be purchased only at the station counters and will not be available online. Moreover, 43 intercity trains will operate across the country during the Eid period, with a total of approximately 33,315 seats. For these trains, 25% of the standing tickets will be sold at station counters.
Passengers can easily collect their tickets from the railway’s website. Once registered, passengers can log in to book their tickets, while those who have already registered can simply log in to proceed with the purchase.
