Jerika Nasnim Disha, 19, who was reportedly with former Bangladesh Air Force officer KM Tahsif Sauri before his death, has become a key focus of the ongoing investigation. Following her arrest, police have sought a seven-day remand to question her.

On the night of the incident, Disha reportedly accompanied Tahsif and his friend Dip to a restaurant in Uttara. Investigators are now trying to establish where the three went after leaving the restaurant.

Naval police arrested Disha earlier. Abdullah Al Mamun, superintendent of police of the Dhaka region of Naval Police, confirmed the development at around 2 pm on Sunday (November 1).

He said a young woman named Disha had been arrested and sent to court with a seven-day remand application for interrogation.

According to investigation sources and CCTV footage, former Air Force Flight Lieutenant KM Tahsif Sauri, his friend Dip and Disha visited Nest Restaurant and Bar in Sector 11 of Uttara at 10:17 pm on October 27. They arrived on a motorcycle and were seen entering the restaurant together.

Another CCTV recording from the restaurant shows Tahsif and Disha waiting near an elevator. A short while later, Dip arrived wearing a helmet. The three then entered the elevator together.

After approximately one and a half hours, the three were seen leaving the restaurant at 11:51 pm. They subsequently left the premises on a motorcycle.

However, investigators have not yet established where Tahsif, Dip and Disha went after leaving the restaurant. Authorities are working to trace their movements.

Investigation sources said that following complaints from Tahsif’s family over his death, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) initially took Dip, who was reportedly a constant companion and junior friend of Tahsif, into custody for questioning.

During interrogation, Dip provided information about various places he had visited with Tahsif and the reasons behind those visits. However, investigators reportedly found inconsistencies in his statements. Based on the information provided by Dip, PBI officials later visited several locations.

Naval police sources said investigators were examining Dip’s earlier statements, the allegations in the case filed by Tahsif’s family, CCTV footage and other evidence collected during the investigation.

Investigators are trying to establish what happened before Tahsif’s death and determine whether anyone else was involved in the incident.
