National Consensus Commission Holds Meeting Ahead of July National Charter 2025 Signing

The National Consensus Commission convened a key meeting ahead of the upcoming July National Charter 2025 signing ceremony, scheduled to take place on October 17 at the South Plaza of the National Parliament.

The meeting was held on Wednesday (October 15) in the afternoon at the state guest house Jamuna, with Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus presiding.

Chief Advisor’s Senior Assistant Press Secretary Fayez Ahmed confirmed the meeting, stating that preparations for the charter signing and related political engagements were discussed. He added that Dr. Yunus would also attend another round of talks with political parties in the evening at the Foreign Service Academy on Bailey Road.

Background

The July National Charter 2025 aims to establish a framework of national unity and cooperation among all political parties and institutions, and is being positioned as a landmark in Bangladesh’s democratic journey.

The final charter is set to be signed in a formal ceremony at the National Parliament’s South Plaza on October 17, 2025.
