In the 2025 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations, 202 educational institutions across Bangladesh have reported a zero pass rate, meaning none of their students passed.
This information was revealed on Wednesday, October 16, during a press briefing held at the Dhaka Education Board office. The announcement was made by Professor Dr. Khondoker Ehsanul Kabir, Chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and Convenor of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee.
According to him, the number of institutions with a 100% fail rate was 65 in 2024. That figure has now tripled to 202, a development that has raised serious concerns about the quality of education in some institutions.
