The July Warriors have announced a nationwide blockade of all highways from 2 PM to 5 PM on Sunday, October 19. The announcement was made on Friday by Masud Rana Sourav, coordinator of the July Warriors Parliament.

Sourav stated that the blockade is being organized in protest of recent attacks on the July Warriors and to demand the implementation of their three-point agenda. He urged the general public and injured warriors to actively participate in the three-hour blockade in every district town. “We have been attacked. If our lives and sacrifices are not recognized, there will be no future revolutionaries born in this country,” he said.

Their demands include official recognition of the July martyrs as “National Heroes,” constitutional recognition granting “Hero” status to the injured and disabled fighters, a clear roadmap for the rehabilitation of injured fighters and martyr families, and the enactment of laws to protect the injured from harassment or attacks until accusations against them are proven.

Earlier on Friday, police prevented the July Warriors from entering the area near the National Parliament building, leading to clashes between the protesters and law enforcement that lasted into the afternoon. After breaking through the gate and being removed from the main stage area, tensions escalated further as the group engaged in arson and vandalism around the parliament premises. Police responded with sound grenades and baton charges to disperse the protesters.

From the morning, many gathered under the banner of “July Martyr Families and Injured Warriors” at Gate 12 of the parliament, chanting slogans. Eventually, they broke the gate, entered the premises, and occupied chairs intended for guests at the main stage while continuing their protest.
