The youth rally of BNP’s three affiliate organizations — Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal, and Swechasebak Dal — kicked off today, Wednesday (May 28), at 2 PM in front of the party’s central office in Nayapaltan, Dhaka. Supporters and party activists started gathering from the morning, arriving in groups with processions.
This rally, titled “Establishing the Political Rights of Youth,” is jointly organized by the Nationalist Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal, and Swechasebak Dal from the divisions of Dhaka, Faridpur, Sylhet, and Mymensingh. The organizers expect a turnout of around 1.5 million young participants from these regions.
Ahead of the rally, party activists have been assembling with processions across Nayapaltan and neighboring areas. A stage has been set up opposite the BNP central office. Due to the road closure in front of the stage, heavy traffic congestion has developed in the surrounding streets.
BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman will join the rally virtually as the chief guest. He is expected to address the youth, sharing the party’s vision, political blueprint, and future strategies.
Several BNP standing committee members are also attending, including Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, and Salahuddin Ahmed.
According to BNP sources, the main objective of this rally is to send a positive message centered on the concerns, aspirations, and political participation of the country’s youth.
Earlier in May, the three youth wings organized various programs aimed at strengthening direct connections with young people and communicating the party’s stance. These included seminars and rallies held over eight days in Dhaka and major divisional cities like Chattogram, Khulna, and Bogura. Today’s event in Nayapaltan marks the culmination of this series of activities.
