Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman paid a courtesy visit to Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus on Saturday, June 7, at the state guest house Jamuna. He was accompanied by his wife, Sarahnaz Kamalika Rahman.
The information was shared through the official Facebook page of the Chief Adviser, where photos from the meeting were also posted.
According to the Facebook post, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, General Waqar-uz-Zaman and his wife met with Dr. Yunus at the state guest house in the afternoon to exchange Eid greetings.
Earlier in the day, Navy Chief Admiral M Nazmul Hassan also visited the Chief Adviser at the same venue, accompanied by his wife. Their meeting photos were also published on the Chief Adviser’s official page.
In the morning, following the main Eid-ul-Azha congregation at the National Eidgah, Dr. Muhammad Yunus exchanged Eid greetings with worshippers and called upon everyone to pray for the peace and prosperity of the country.
Addressing the nation, he said, “Eid Mubarak to all. Please pray for the well-being of the country.”
The Chief Adviser was joined at the Eid congregation by the Chief Justice, judges of the Supreme Court and High Court Divisions, members of the Advisory Council, leaders of various political parties, senior government officials, and diplomats from several Muslim countries based in Dhaka, along with thousands of devout worshippers.
