The Ministry of Railways has requested all passengers to follow health guidelines and wear masks during their return journeys by train after the Eid-ul-Azha holidays.

In a press release issued on Sunday (June 8), the ministry highlighted the recent increase in COVID-19 cases and noted that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has advised people to wear masks in crowded places. Elderly and sick individuals are especially urged to avoid public gatherings.

In light of this, the Ministry of Railways has urged all train passengers to maintain health safety protocols and wear face masks during travel.

Meanwhile, after a one-day closure for Eid, metro rail services in Dhaka resumed on Sunday (June 8) from 8:30 AM.

According to a separate notice from Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), carrying raw or cooked meat, as well as sacrificial animal hides, is strictly prohibited on metro trains. Passengers will be screened at station entry points, and anyone found carrying such items will not be allowed to enter.

DMTCL also announced that starting Monday (June 9), metro rail will operate following the timetable designated for public holidays.
