Short-form videos are now one of the most popular types of content on social media. To make creating and editing these videos easier and more creative, YouTube is rolling out five new features for its Shorts platform. These updates will use advanced artificial intelligence (AI) developed by Google DeepMind to enhance the user experience.

YouTube Shorts will soon offer more powerful editing tools within the app. Creators will be able to easily trim or extend clips, add music or text, rearrange scenes, or remove specific segments—all in a more streamlined way.
2. Auto-Sync with Music Beats
Adding music to videos will become even easier. With the new update, video clips will automatically align with the rhythm and beats of the chosen song, eliminating the need for manual syncing.
3. Turn Photos into Shorts Templates
Creators will be able to use photos from their phone galleries to instantly create Shorts templates. These templates can also be customized with various visual effects, turning static images into dynamic short videos.
4. AI-Generated Stickers
By entering a simple text prompt, creators can generate custom AI-powered stickers to add to their videos. This feature will allow for greater personalization and creativity in content.
5. ‘Brainstorming Buddy’ AI Tool
This generative AI tool will help creators come up with new video ideas, catchy titles, and engaging thumbnails. It’s designed to support the entire creative process from concept to upload.
YouTube also mentioned that it is working on advanced dubbing tools to better serve a global audience. However, the platform has not yet announced an official launch date for these new features.
